About Laura M. Ibarra, LMFT, LMHC, MAC

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Master Addiction Counselor. I received my Master of Arts in Psychology from Chapman University and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington.

Verified by Psychology Today, I have a background working with individuals, couples, and families. I have experience working with at-risk youth, foster children, and children and teenagers with severe mental illness. I have over a decade of experience working with Active-Duty Service Members with dual diagnoses, mood disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, trauma, and substance use disorders.

Helping clients facing depression and anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, relationship conflict, identity concerns, life transitions, parenting, adulting, and spirituality, I am specialized in treating dual diagnosis substance use disorders and mood disorders.

I work collaboratively with clients to create client-centered treatment plans. By utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques in the counseling process, I am able to tailor theoretical orientations to clients’ needs and goals. I pull from the following theoretical orientations: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing, Emotionally Focused, Narrative, Family Systems, Internal Family Systems, Client-Centered, Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused, and Solution Focused Therapy.
